How long should I plan to stay if I'm having NSR treatment

Accepted Answer

We generally recommend planning for 4 days of travel to allow for the best treatment experience and recovery.

A typical schedule looks like this:
Day 1: Arrive in Cleveland and settle into your hotel.
Day 2: First NSR treatment (right side) (approximately 2 hours)
Day 3: Second NSR treatment (left side) (approximately 2 hours)
Day 4: Travel home.

Most patients tolerate treatment very well and are able to resume normal activities shortly afterward. While some patients choose to fly home the same day as their second treatment, we find that staying overnight and traveling home the following day provides a more comfortable, less stressful experience.

Question 2

Can I fly the same day as NSR or ketamine treatments?

Accepted Answer

We do not recommend flying on the same day as either ketamine therapy or Neuro-Sympathetic Reset (NSR) treatment.

For NSR, we recommend remaining in the area overnight after each treatment day so our team can monitor your response and ensure you are recovering comfortably.

For ketamine therapy, you should not drive, operate machinery, or travel independently for the remainder of the day. Most patients are cleared to fly the following day.

If you are traveling from out of town, our team can help you plan an appropriate treatment and travel schedule.

Question 3

Do I need a driver for my procedure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Patients receiving Neuro-Sympathetic Reset (NSR) or IV ketamine therapy must have a responsible adult available to drive them home after treatment. These procedures and any associated medications can temporarily affect alertness, coordination, and reaction time, making it unsafe to drive.

Ride-share services may be permitted, but patients may need to remain in recovery longer before discharge. Please contact our office with any questions about your transportation plans.

Question 4

Can I use a Ride Share service (Uber or Lyft)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Patients may use a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft for transportation to and from their NSR appointments.

Patients are not permitted to drive themselves home after treatment and must have a transportation plan arranged in advance. A family member, friend, or ride share service are all acceptable options.

If you choose to use a ride share service, you may be required to remain in our recovery area for a longer observation period before discharge to ensure you are feeling well and ready to travel safely. The length of observation varies based on your individual response to treatment and any medications received during your visit.
